David Geraty formed Geraty Investments in 2006 and is the President and CEO, managing all aspects of the firm’s advisory and investment management services. Mr. Geraty previously served as a Senior Research Analyst with RBC Capital Markets and its predecessor firms (Dain Rauscher Wessels and Wessels, Arnold & Henderson). In his role as research analyst, he provided institutional and retail investors with equity research on the Restaurant and Specialty Food Retailing Industries. Following these industries for nearly 20 years, Mr. Geraty covered a universe of over 25 institutional quality companies. He was also regularly vetted by his firm’s investment bankers to assist them in advising management teams, boards of directors and investment sponsors regarding a wide variety of Restaurant Industry and company specific issues as they relate to finance and strategic alternatives and direction.
Mr. Geraty served as a Managing Director and Senior Equity Analyst for 14 years in the Equity Research Department of RBC Capital Markets and its predecessor firms. For all of his tenure with RBC Capital Markets and its predecessors, he was the firm’s most senior consumer analyst. Mr. Geraty joined the partnership of Minneapolis-based Wessels, Arnold & Henderson (a predecessor company) in 1992 where he focused on best-in-class, emerging growth restaurant companies. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and Senior Equity Analyst covering the Restaurant Industry for Equitable Securities, a Nashville-based investment firm, beginning in 1987. Prior to joining Equitable Securities, Mr. Geraty was a Senior Vice President with Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc., which he joined in 1982. Mr. Geraty has approximately 27 years of investment experience. He earned an A.B. from Wake Forest University and completed his A.M. and post doctoral studies at The University of Chicago.
